Punctuation:
I have included
- capital letters for: beginning sentences, proper nouns and titles
- question marks
- full stops
- commas: in lists, for pauses and to make meaning clear
- apostrophes: for contractions (e.g. do not becomes don’t) and to show ownership (e.g. That is Lee’s pet dog.)
- exclamation marks
- quotation marks (speaking marks)
Spelling:
I have
- checked the spelling of any unknown words
- not confused words that sound the same
- used correct endings for plurals
Grammar:
I have included
- a varity of different verbs
- correct verb tenses (past, present, and future tenses) (verb tense activities 1, 2, 3)
- appropriate adverbs to describe verbs
- interesting adjectives
- suitable conjunctions (A conjunction is a part of speech that connects two words, phrases or clauses together.)
Writing:
I have read through my writing to check that
- it makes sense
- it is easy to understand
- paragraphing is appropriate
- there are no double negatives
(e.g. I am not going to buy no bananas)
