Our school uses a system where the preps are paired up with a yr 6 and every Thursday they get together and do some work together. This helps the preps to become more confident with their work and have a good introduction to the school while it helps the yr 6s with their leadership skills.
Last Friday the buddies went on an excursion to the Royal Botanical Gardens. The preps were there to learn about the different senses of the body and to have a bit of fun as well. We first went to the herb garden where the buddies got to use their senses to write down what they heard, smelt, saw, and felt.
After that we had recess with our buddies before moving onto the next activity. Walking to the lake took a while but when we got there we recorded our feelings again. After walking back and having our lunch we went to go to the children’s garden. But when we got there it was really busy and instead we play a big game of duck-duck-goose before going back on the bus.
It was a really fun day for everyone and the preps really enjoyed it.
